History:

78 Tracy Street was built c.1891 and remodeled in 1915 for apartments, which is how the building appears today. The interior of the building was quite deteriorated condition with damaged plaster, mold, and defunct utilities. Regardless of the damage it retained a high level of integrity related to the corridors and configuration of the apartments. The building was rehabilitated for continued use as apartments and the corridors and apartment layout was unchanged. The majority of the work scope involved updating finishes, remediating the years of neglect, and overhauling the interior and exterior, including installing appropriate windows. The building is located in the local, tax-certified, West Village Historic District.
