Edward H. White Memorial Hospital

Preservation Studios worked with the St. Petersburg Housing Authority to prepare a Determination of Eligibility as a potential historic tax credit rehabilitation. The building was originally constructed as a six-story private hospital designed by the locally prominent firm of Harvard and Jolly for a group of 24 local physicians. The original section broke ground in 1974 and was completed in 1976, at a cost of around $8 million, and included 167 patient beds. . In 1985 a four-story addition off the south elevation of the six-story hospital building was constructed. The addition is steel construction with curtain walls of stucco-paneling and vertical spandrels of windows, referencing the original design of the 1976 building.
